Nutnfancy Spends 20 Minutes Sharpening a Spyderco Endura 4

Just in case you want to know how to use an Edge Pro Apex sharpener, Nutnfancy offers this 20-minute epic. Actually, make that if you want to know how Nutnfancy uses an Edge Pro Apex Sharpener. While this sharptacular is mercifully short by NF’s usual standards,  it’s about 13 minutes longer than the official demo. Or this excellent 10-minute knife-sharpening vid. Personally, I have zero tolerance for epic how-to videos. And I have a Zero Tolerance knife. I ship it to them at my expense, they sharpen it, and then send it back at their expense. Works for me.

Mein Gott in Himmel! That’s boring. I dig sharpness as much or more than the next guy does, but that video is boring. Informative, but boring.

I saw this video today and I thought WTF? He talks about “getting in and out” of the sharpener and that he doesn’t use other brands because they take too long, and then proceeds with a marathon sharpening session on that Endura. I’m surprised there was anything left of it after 20 minutes.

Sorry, stopped watching after the first minute. Closed minded is high on my do not listen/watch list.

    1000 grit? I finish with 10,000

    1. Gapp says:

1000grit EPA stones are equiv. to a 8000 grit jap waterstone….its not 1:1.
I personally use the 1200grit as my finishing stone(equal to a 15000 grit jap waterstone) but theyve got polishing tapes that go up to 20,000grit equiv.
