UPDATE: Osama Bin Laden Raid Knife Sold for $34K

Sold! Knife carried by Seal Team member during the raid on Osama Bin Laden's compound (courtesy

As Chris Dumm reported earlier, the auction of a knife carried by one of the SEAL Team Six members during the, uh, raid on Osama Bin Laden’s compound was supposed to end at 8pm EST. It kept going long into the night. The blade belonged to Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette (a.k.a., Mark Owen) who donated it to Combat Flip Flops. Looks like someone wants to own a piece of history. The winning bid clocked-in at $34k. I wonder what they’d get for the gun that holed the terrorist . . .

  1. Related to raid souvenir stories, the link below quotes the actual shooter as saying:

“The Shooter said the CIA operative broke down in tears at the sight of bin Laden’s body back at the Afghanistan base and that he gave her his magazine, which still contained 27 shots, as a souvenir.”

    His account differs from Owen’s:

And no a word anywhere on the whereabouts of bin Laden’s AKS-74U.
