Obscure Object Of Desire: Krudo Knives’ RAW Hybrid

Krudo Knives’ new RAW Hybrid combines the hardness of ATS-34 steel with the lightness and toughness of bilateral carbon fiber. At 11.75″ long and only 7.6 ounces, this $400 knife is so light and thin that Kim Kardashian will not allow them in her house…

And it’s also so new and rare that this dreadful photo was the best image of it I could scrape from Krudo Knives’ web site. Krudo needs a new photographer stat, and I’m nominating my backup editor, Danny Z, who could take better commercial stills than this with the camera on my daughter’s Nintendo DSi.

And YMMV, but for no good reason I think I need one of these bizarre knives.

  1. After clicking through the link I took somewhat of a like to the overall shape of the curved knife (handle and blade) though I think the blade has too much belly in proportion to the length and it should have a more elongated blade. IMO, the artistic designs on the blade are some of the ugliest blade designs I have ever seen. I could also do without the serrated shark teeth on top of the spine. Less expensive steels such as 1055, 1075, and 1095 usually hold-up just fine for most owners. At $405 this knife is a no-buy for me.

  2. I’ll bet a prop master in Hollywood already has a part for that knife.
Some bad guy in a sci-fi movie will whip this out to show us that,
like the knife, he is a whole new bad ass like nobody has ever seen.
Hey, that’s what creativity is all about. That Rambo movie knife
made Gil Hibben a big pile of coin.
