Watch The Farson Blade Survival Tool Skin An Antelope (NSFW?)

The Farson Blade survival tool is a fascinating piece of kit: half knife, half hatchet, and half ulu. That’s too many halves, isn’t it? However it adds up, this is no ordinary knife. Despite having no point at all, it’s far from pointless.

Case in point: it’s got more belly than any blade you’ve ever seen, and it skins large game like nobody’s business. Make the jump to see it in action, but use caution if you’re particularly squeamish or surrounded by militant vegetarians.

I sent our Farson blade to Clay for testing, since he slices and dices more wild game in a month than I’ve hacked up since law school. Which is a pity when you think of it, but stay tuned for his upcoming review anyway.

  1. You flatter me Chris. While I am sure that your statement is factually correct about the amount of game you have processed since law school, I know that there is a member of the Edged Intelligentsia who will be able able to properly document butchering a deer with it this Fall. If there is someone who will almost definitely be bagging a deer this Fall, please let me know.

I am working on reviewing the Farson. (Hint, I’m conflicted…It certainly works. It is just…different). But I can certainly pass it on as I am almost done testing what I wanted to.

  2. I’m a vegetarian. But non militant. I used to hunt and still support and encourage those that do hunt. Now as far as this tool goes. It’s an odd duck. It may be good for some jobs but odd ducks have a tendacy to get passed over.
