Kershaw+Duck Dynasty=Awesomeness

The famous bearded family are increasing their marketing empire by partnering with Kershaw’s parent company KAI. (I have massive amounts of respect for the empire these guys built. Not only are they fantastic businessmen, but they are hilarious. No robots here). The only question I have is whether or not it will be crap. I’m going to guess no since they chose Kershaw. If they would have gone with Gerber (I’m looking at you, Bear Grylls), I’d be doubting the quality of the future products. But Kershaw puts out fantastic products for cheap.

The press release from KAI says that they will be putting out folding and fixed blades for the hunting and EDC markets, as well as a kitchen knife set from Shun. They expect 3 of the first 4 knives in the series to be available in the middle of next year, with prototypes available at SHOT Show. I predict the EDC model to be 3.25″-3.75″ with 8Cr13MoV steel, G10 handles, and an assisted flipper for the deployment. Read the press release here:

  1. Will the products be better, or even markedly different, from the rest of the product line, or just their name slapped on the “same ‘ol, same ‘ol?”

  2. I feel I must introduce you to the BEST knives in the United States. As far as we
know, we are the only ones making a knife with the blade and handle one-piece of
A2 hardened steel. We have been written up in knife magazines as the knife that will hold up when the planets collide. We are custom made in Idaho. Our X-46 has a hollow handle with a screw on cap for watertight storage. We would like an appointment to show you our knives. You can read about them and see pictures at Robson Knives Idaho, or on facebook. Folding knives have their place but ours is a SURVIVAL KNIFE that holds it’s sharpness have chopping wood and can be sharpened on a rock if necessary. Please look at the videos we have posted.
