Obscure Object Of Desire: Olamic Cutlery ‘Bravado’ Folder

Image courtesy Olamic CutleryIt’s been at least a few hours since we posted another OOD article about some fab-looking knife none of us can afford. To fill that aching hole in my heart, here’s the scoop on the Bravado folder from Olamic Cutlery.

The Bravado line is assembled (and customized and finished, etc) in the U.S.A. using components and materials sourced from Italy. Materials like N690 blades, G10 or C-Tec scales, and titanium bolsters.

These knives are art, and art doesn’t come cheap unless you’re that lucky guy who bought a bunch of Banksy originals from a Central Park sidewalk vendor. The Bravado starts at about $450 if you can find one for sale at all.

Something from Olamic is on my wish list. Jim Skelton’s Wayfarer with silver twill for scales looks amazing

The first photo at that link, the Mercado fixed blade is gorgeous.

And for real fun, look at this (sold) one-off Persian with a handle carved from a slab of Carbon Fiber: http://www.olamiccutlery.com/cf-persian/

That’s exactly it. If you can find one for sale. The wayfarer has been on my list. Eugene from Olamic is great at responding, but I still haven’t heard back on when there is one available for purchase.
