Vacation Knife Porn Image of the Day: Benchmade Mini Griptilian

Sometimes size really does matter. When you want to keep things on the small side, it’s hard to improve on a Benchmade Mini Griptilian with its ambi AXIS locking system. A Mini Grip is just the thing to slip into one pocket while five rounds of .38 caliber snubby deterrence ride in the other.

  1. My review of this fine knife is in the works. It has replaced my Spyderco Native as my EDC of choice.

Count me as another fan of the Mini-Grip lineup! My personal favorite and EDC is the Doug Ritter version.

  2. Mike L says:

Wow, that is one wonderful photograph. Those two compliment each beautifully. Simple, smooth lines and functionally pure. No gizmos, electonics or “plastic “. High lighting wood and steel.

Do you even realize what you just said? A Griptilian is a PLASTIC handled knife. Not something I would want in my pocket. The .38 looks good, IF its a normal hammer revolver. Can’t tell from the pic. I have no use for the bobbed hammer/concealed hammer versions. I also don’t like the “mini” version of any knife.

      1. Mike L says:

Relax Navy…my mind was on the gun, the scales on the knife are plastic. You are right.

        1. NavyRetGold says:

Hmmm.. I think I came on a bit strong and that was not my intent. My apologies. That is a good looking .38 revolver.

      2. Dan Zimmerman says:

        OMG! Plastic scales! OMG!

It’s still an excellent knife. But those like you wouldn’t be caught dead with plastic scales in their pockets are the reason a mini industry has cropped up providing custom versions for these knives.
