Picture by reader Stuart. “Art” by sculptor Guo-Qiang made with knives confiscated by TSA at JFK Airport.
Stuart B., the same reader who won the Facebook Knife Porn contest, submits this picture he took of a sculpture outside of JFK Airport. Instead of the TSA either a)just letting folks carry what tools they want onto an airplane (after all, there are situations where knives on planes would save lives.) or b)they could sell them to defray runaway costs of the security theater we all must endure. Instead, the TSA picked option c) Use them for meaningless and costly civic art projects.
Obviously, option “a” would have been best. Small folding knives are not a threat. A person who is a threat can improvise any manner of weapon that they would like from commonly available post-security items if creating mayhem aloft is their goal. The two actions that have been taken to ensure that a 9/11 style attack could never occur again are reinforcing the cockpit doors and passengers realizing that they need to fight back against a threat instead of sitting their waiting for outside help. All of the naked cancer scanners, pat downs, and other infringements on our 4th amendment rights are nothing but an expensive dog-and-pony show.
Enough of my soap box ramblings, please caption Stuart’s photo. And if you have one of your own, please send it to thetruthaboutknives@gmail.com.
Thanks.

+1. First thing I read after landing in ATL. Thanks for the laugh.
“Alligator that walks on stilts in city, bound to get stuck” – Confucius
Tick tock tick tock? My dear croc, I think not.
….and you get two points if you can name all the hardware used in the photo!
Unfortunately, crocodile dundee said “that’s not a knife” once too often…
That’s a fork in his nose. They took a fork. “AFTER I’M DONE WITH THIS DELICIOUS SALAD, YOU’RE ALL DEAD!!!”
And she said “We are all just prisoners here, of our own device”
And in the master’s chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can’t kill the beast
– The Eagles
“Go up against Dundee,” they said. “It’ll be fun, they said.”
