Urgent from Knife Rights: New Contact – Tell Senator Nozzolio to release Gravity Knife Bill from his committee (Updated)

Update 11;30am 6/23/15:

If you are on Twitter: please tweet @SenatorNozzolio and ask him to advance the bill.  Use the hashtag #letnyknifebillgo   Thanks.

I was just letting the dog out and getting ready to hit the rack when this came into my email. It sounds like the gravity knife bill is touch and go with recalcitrant lawmakers obfuscating and trying to run out the clock. There is a new lawmaker that is holding things up apparently, and he needs to hear from knife nation.

If you live, work, or visit New York, please call ASAP!

From KnifeRights.org:

VERY URGENT NEW YORK ACTION ALERT – CALL RIGHT NOW! TIME IS RUNNING OUT! With Knife Rights lobbyist Todd Rathner on the ground in Albany, we are still trying to figure out exactly where A.4821/S.3675 stands (the bill to “Fix” NY’s Gravity Knife Law & Stop Thousands of NYC Arrests). We were assured the bill had been “released” by Senator Nozzolio from the Codes Committee, but now we are hearing that it’s still in the committee. We are currently trying to find out the truth, but that is almost irrelevant given just hours remain in the session. WE NEED YOU TO CALL RIGHT NOW!

If you live, work or travel to New York please CALL Senator Nozzolio’s office and politely request that he “please stop playing politics with A.4821/S.3675 and send it to the Rules Committee so it can move to the floor for a vote. Pushing knife owners off for the second year in a row is not acceptable!”

Senator Nozzolio: 518-455-2366

I sent an e-mail and got a canned response also. I wonder what became of all that roofing tar that used to be up there, if I recall many of the roofs were tarred at one time. Shame we couldn’t re-appropriate some of that tar for those politicians. Come to think of it, why did tar and feathers fall out of favor?

I just called my senator from the western part of NY and his office had not even heard a thing about this bill yet. Also called Nozzolio

  3. Unless there is more than one Senator Nozzolio, they lied to your face. It is a fact that he sat on S. 3675 , running out the clock despite an avalanche of calls emails and tweets. He told Doug Ritter to tell people to stop calling in fact, that they had gotten the message. And Senator Douche-Nozzle still killed it.
