Five dead in Tulsa knife-slaying

5 members of a Broken Arrow, OK family are dead, allegedly slaughtered at the hands of their own teenage brothers/sons. A sixth victim, the boy’s 13 year old sister is seriously injured and final child, a 2 year old girl is unharmed. Police responded to a silent 9-1-1 call Wednesday evening to discover a scene of unspeakable carnage.

From MSN.com:

“According to Calhoun (Broken Arrow Police Cpl. Leon Calhoun, the department spokesman.) officers responding to a 911 call at about 11:30 Wednesday night could not enter the house through the front door but heard moaning and found another way inside. They came across the injured 13-year-old first and dragged her outside for fear the killer might still be in the house.

And they did the same with two other victims, not knowing whether they were dead or alive.

Elsewhere in the house, they found three more bodies.

A tracking dog led officers to 16- and 18-year-old brothers in woods near the house. They were taken to the Broken Arrow Police station for questioning and would likely be transferred to the Tulsa County Jail, Calhoun said.”

Reading on in the article, it seems that the family was fairly detached from their neighbors in the otherwise close-knit suburb of Tulsa. None of the 7 children were allowed to play with the neighborhood kids, and the family was only ever glimpsed while leaving home in their Suburban.

Stay tuned folks, it sounds like there were some family issues that will come out as the case is investigated.

  1. I have friends that live in BA. It ranges from modern subdivisions to 100 acre homesteads. Most people in the sticks are more neighborly to each other in the classic sense, so it sounds like this family had something going on, in the way they isolated themselves. Some crazy stuff. I bet the girl has the real story on it.

  2. I have family in that area, I’ve been watching this one unfold. Unfortunately, the DFW news had about 5 seconds about this.
Grindstone has it about right with the make up of that area. Thanks for the updates.
