Britney Sprears’ sister, Jamie Lynn, came to the rescue of her friend by grabbing a large serrated bread knife.

Yes, Britney’s sister. This actually occurred last December, and somehow I missed it. What is equally bizarre is that for some reason this came up in a “past 24 hours” google search. At any rate, it seems right for a Friday afternoon quick-hit.

According to TMZ, Ms. Spears was dining at the Pita Pit in Hammond, LA with a friend when a fight broke out between diners.

“The violence broke out last weekend at the Pita Pit in Hammond, Louisiana — Jamie Lynn Spears and a friend had made a late night stop for food, when … according to sources close to Jamie … someone attacked her friend.

Cops tell us Jamie’s friend got clocked with a bottle. That’s when Jamie went all “Saving Private Ryan” … dragging her friend to safety. Our Spears sources say Jamie pulled her behind the sandwich counter — then grabbed a long serrated bread knife and started waving it around to stop the fight.

We’re told that did the job. Police showed up, but Jamie’s friend didn’t want to press charges … so no one got arrested.”

It is usually a dangerous escalation to introduce a weapon to a fist-fight, but in this case it appears to have diffused the situation. She is lucky she didn’t end up charged with something though.

All’s well that ends well I guess.

  1. Self defense against being beaten to death is not a crime. How many times would the author let someone beat him or loved ones before using a knife in self defense.

    • If one is going to introduce a weapon to a fight, you need to be absolutely convinced that deadly force is justified. As a previous reader pointed out, the bottle probably broke the threshold.

My point was purely that the law doesn’t care if you brandished a knife or a gun. In some places the laws are bass-akward that you would be better off drawing a gun
