Howdy folks, I had some family stuff tonight, and commitments that will prevent me from getting anything out in the morning. So here are a couple of items that I would like to cover in further detail but frankly can’t at the moment. We will be back to our regularly scheduled programming shortly.
Leading off: The Baltimore Sun examines “Zero Tolerance Laws” in “Charting the Future of Police in Baltimore Schools.” They, like most of the country are trying to find the sweet spot between between police being proactive enough to be effective, yet not to the point where they are creating more problems than the original offenses themselves.
In the latest from the Knife Intifada in Israel, there were 5 civilians killed in a mix of stabbing and shooting attacks by Palestinian jihadis. One of them, 18 year-old Ezra Schwartz was an American citizen, and was a family friend of a TTAK reader who dropped me a line. The world is a little smaller tonight. May the memories of all the innocents killed be a blessing.
In what is likely not at all a political knife-killing, a Bronx man is dead and two others injured after they were involved in a knife-fight at a local park. Stupid is as stupid does. I am not going to lose any sleep over that one.
In case you were worried about the UC Merced killer being an ISIS sympathizer, don’t worry, it was his masculinity that made him do it. At least that is what is being foisted on students at a “teach-in” event debriefing the attack.
Finally, an Australian man was arrested for attempted carjacking while brandishing a knife and a small dog. After blowing out a tire, the man exits one vehicle and attempts to carjack another. The whole thing was caught on video.
Have a great Friday folks. I will be back with fresh content over the weekend.
