Video: Tool Use Level – Master

Woodworking is a bit of a tangential topic, but my first post for TTAK was my review of the Tormek Sharpening System, which is the tool of choice for sharpening all manner of odd lathe-turning gouges, chisels, and other woodworking tools. It isn’t bad for knives either.

The above video is making the rounds on FaceBook, and was too hypnotic and frankly too cool to not share.

I am a mid-amateur level woodworker. I haven’t branched off into turning yet, though I imagine I will someday. It would be a while longer before I could do work that nice. I do have a little experience gluing up complex boards, and then carving out a vessel from the resulting composite piece. I used a router to make this platter for my wife a couple of Christmases ago.

Here’s a relatively easy project that looks cool and is sort of knife related, it’s a cutting board. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCZtB8qLydY

The bowl is a work of art. The platter is cool too.
