Video: Making a canister-Damascus knife from fish hooks

I had never even heard of canister-Damascus until I watched Forged in Fire on the History Channel. I was fairly clear on the typical process of pattern-welding steel, but the use of a canister allows for small, loose items such as ball bearings or in this case fish hooks to be used to make a steel billet.

The process was demonstrated in the series, but there was little to no explanations. In the above video from Green Beetle’s YouTube Channel, the maker describes what he is doing in each step.

The end result is one heck of nice knife that I would love to carry.
