Hoplophobic dingbattery of the day: Police called after teacher already confiscated pocketknife without incident

I hope that no one was the victim of a violent or property crime in Middle Township, NJ during the school day last Friday. That is because the police were otherwise occupied investigating the Crime of the Century.

From Press of Atlantic City:

“MIDDLE TOWNSHIP — Police responded to Elementary School No. 2 on Friday after a 9-year-old boy brought a knife to class in his backpack.

The third-grader told other students about the knife. They in turn told a teacher who took the knife without incident. Nobody was hurt.”

But wait, there’s more…

“In a statement, police said the district is working with the Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and local social service agencies to help the children involved in the incident.”

Prosecutors are looking at the case. Counselors are called in.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!

When are people going to rise up against this crap? How much manpower and taxpayer money is being wasted on a situation that should have been handled with the teacher returning the knife at the end of the day with a note to Junior’s parents asking that he leave it at home.

Actually, he should be allowed to bring it to school in the first place. But this has gone from absurd to insane and needs to be stopped.

There is no common sense anymore. Higher education and enlightenment has killed it.

it still could happen …. they’re looking into it with the prosecutor

  3. borg says:

If I were one of the cops I would have arrested the teacher for possession of the knife claiming possession is nine-tenths of the law as well charging the teacher with theft and lying to police and see what sticks.
