You wanted a hands-on report on the full-tang Mora Garberg…

The TTAG crew is looking at boomy stuff out at SHOT, and they haven’t made it by the Mora booth yet. Our friend Tim of EverydayTacticalVids did have the chance, and he got to see the new Moraknive Garberg in person. He shared it to his YouTube Channel.

I know some of you all are griping about the price, but it is going to be a long time until they recoup the cost of tooling for production. A high quality production full tang with a $65 street / $110 MSRP is not out of line. It is just not what we all expect from Mora.

Frankly, I am going to grab one at the earliest opportunity.

Put ‘er thru the gamut, see how she does. Heck, invent a new test/torture. Inquiring minds want to know.

Looks like it should be good but what is with the 1 1/4 tang? Not only does it muck up the aesthetics it looks like it adds needless weight. Nothing would be lost (except weight) if the tang was half an inch shorter and inside the handle.

So grind it off, c’mon LOL

    2. If you do a lot of batoning, which is why many of us have been hoping for a full tang, it is good to be able to hit the handle when re-positioning the knife mid-split.

I actually drove the Will Woods Kraken into a log and stood on it by hitting the exposed tang.
