A victim of Thursday’s machete attack arrives at the hospital

Thanks to a tip from a friend I was on the Columbus machete-attack story fairly quickly last night. At that time, details were kind of sketchy, but the story has fleshed out considerably in the subsequent 24 hours.

It turns out that there was more to this attack than a simple spree-stabbing.

From ABC News:

The machete-wielding man who allegedly injured four people in an attack at an Ohio restaurant before he was shot and killed by police was known to the FBI, but not under full scale investigation, law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Barry, 30, according to Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz, was in a law enforcement database which includes names potentially related to terrorism, sources said. Being in the database would have flagged him if he came in contact with local authorities.

The FBI is investigating the suspect’s motive, Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs said at a news conference this afternoon, adding that the motive is not yet clear.

The motive was unclear…

Barry was a Somali Muslim who was known to the FBI. The restaurant had an Israeli flag near the entrance (he is actually an Israeli-Arab, not a Jew).

Hey Barney, solve this one or turn in your bullet.

One of the articles I read said that he came in, asked for the owner, left, then came back and started the attack. Obviously, he came in and saw the gun free signs and left so he could safely and legally store his firearms in his vehicle and get an appropriate weapon for the job – the machete.

Reasonable people can make a reasonable guess. The deliberate ignoring of reality is one reason Trump is doing so well.

Was this a real machete? Or are they making a knife attack sound more lethal, u know just like ever dog attack the breed is a pitbull, every rifle attack an assault rifle…..and obviously ever pistolero is a gang member or terrorist….

It’s only a matter of time before machete attacks will be labeled as sword attacks, and hatchets will be full blown axes, no wait, chain saws…lol
