Jake Middleton has long been a member of the TTAK community, as a commentor and occasional contributor. Until recently, his focus has been on his personal blog, RuggedAmericanGear but he has decided to wind it down. He has his hands full with two kids, a full time job as a home inspector, and various other hobbies and projects. However, he is a great writer who has been cultivating contacts in the knife and outdoor products industries for several years now. He doesn’t want to give up writing, but doesn’t want the pressure of trying to constantly update his site.
He has agreed to channel his creative gifts and energies by becoming a staff-writer for TTAK. Here he will be free to publish on his own schedule, and his internet host’s loss is our gain. His extensive knowledge of knives, hand-tools, and other assorted gear will fit in well here and we are thrilled to have him.
We will also be running a series of “From the archives of RuggedAmericanGear:” posts, absorbing the best of Jake’s writing and product reviews into our own archives, and keeping a piece of his original site alive after the lights are turned out.
I appreciate everyone’s bearing with me as my own posting frequency has dropped a bit. The fishing-guide season is ramping into full swing, and I have been out 3 of the last 5 days. Things are a bit calmer the rest of the week, and with the likely help of a “link-dump” I should be able to catch up. With Blade Show 2016 just around the corner, expect big things in the coming weeks.
I am going to get back to my “Day on the water with the First Edge 5150” post. Have a great day everyone.
