Switchblade/Gravity Knife Ban repeals introduced in Colorado and Virginia

With KnifeRights’ assistance, switchblade-ban repeal has been proposed in Colorado and Virginia

Chairman Doug Ritter attributes KnifeRights’ success to their tenacious attitude and refusal to let setbacks break their stride. They will head back to New York again this year to try and fix NY’s unjust gravity knife law (the solution to which was vetoed by Governor Cuomo). They have announced an ambitious Federal agenda including a full repeal of the Federal Switchblade Act in this year’s iteration of the Knife Owner Protection Act. And they are opening new fronts in the battle to restore Americans’ God-given right to keep and bear the tools of their choice. Legislation to repeal the Switchblade and “Gravity Knife” bans in Colorado, and the Switchblade ban in Virginia has been introduced in those respective states.

Colorado Switchblade/Gravity Knife Ban Repeal Introduced

SB 17-008 to repeal Colorado’s Switchblade and Gravity Knife bans has been introduced by Senator Owen Hill (R-10) and Representative Steve Lebsock (D-34). The bill legalizes the possession and sale of a gravity knife or switchblade by removing such knives from the definition of “illegal weapon.” Knife Rights is working with our friends in Colorado to assure the passage of this bill.

Virginia Switchblade Ban Repeal Introduced

House Bill 1432 to repeal Virginia’s Switchblade ban has been introduced by Delegates Lee Ware (R-65) and Scott Lingamfelter (R-34). Knife Rights is working with our friends in Virginia to assure that the final language of this bill best serves knife owners.
