Defensive Chainsaw Use: Victim uses chainsaw to fight off knife wielding attacker.

Chainsaw beats knife. Again. Still.

As we have covered before, it is never a good idea to bring a knife to a chainsaw fight. A Florida man learned this lesson when pulled a knife on another man during an argument.

From WJHG:

Defuniak Police responded to 11th Street just before 2 p.m. after someone called 9-1-1 and hung up.

When they arrived, they found Rodney Robinson with cuts he received during an argument with Brooketee Hartfield.

Witnesses said Robinson pulled a knife on Hartfield, who then allegedly swung a chainsaw at Robinson. Officials say the chainsaw was off at the time.

Robinson suffered non-life threatening cuts to his forearm and was taken to Healthmark Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Robinson was later arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Officials say Hartfield was not charged in the incident after witnesses told police he was defending himself.

It is interesting to note that in our other case as well, the chainsaw was not even on. Maybe it was a Husqvarna and he couldn’t get it started. If he had my Stihl MS251c (seen above), it would have started with just a quarter pull.
