Knife-wielding ex-employee assaults former boss in his home. He chose poorly.

Some Heroes don’t wear capes…

Or should I say the Boss was a Boss. Oliver Jones-Lee had fired John Blanchard from his job at a waste management firm earlier in the day, when he noticed his keys were missing. He quickly returned to his home to find Blanchard ransacking his home and wielding a knife, but he was having none of it.

From Mirror UK:

However, rather than call the police, Mr Jones-Lee wrestled Blanchard to the ground and prevented him from drawing a knife he had stolen from the kitchen.

“I was so angry. I grabbed hold of John and he was just obnoxious and horrible and threatening me,” he said.

“He had been done for carrying knives previously and he said ‘you know what I am capable of’, thinking he was real smart.

“Then he went towards the back of his trousers but I grabbed hold of his hand and pulled the knife away from him.

“I pinned him on the floor and he was knocked out cold for half an hour.

“He was in my house and he had already annoyed me, and the knife was the icing on the cake for me to think you are not getting away with anything else.

“No one comes into my house and takes my stuff.”

Some heroes don’t wear capes.

As this happened in the UK, I am surprised he isn’t being charged for hurting the perp’s feelings, let alone knocking him cold. I suppose it was a good thing he didn’t grab a stick or Heaven-forbid a knife to defend himself. The Crown would never stand for such an outrageous act.
