Sometimes someone does something just to prove it is possible. Why else would someone make a knife out of dried fish? Now the mad knifemaker of the Kiwami Japan YouTube Channel is back. This time essentially forge-welding a roll of aluminum foil (I am sure there is a different technical, metallurgical term), and shaping it into a razor-sharp kitchen knife.
I can’t believe he polishes it up to 30000-grit. And then he strops it. That is insane. Just like the edge he puts on it. Aluminum is probably not very high in terms of edge retention, but color me impressed nonetheless.
