My trusty sidekick David arrived at my place in Knoxville a bit before midnight. He is crashing here tonight before we make the short drive down to Atlanta in the morning. It would have been nice if he could have made it earlier so we could have hung out a bit more, but we did have a chance to do a little show-and-tell. My collection has some cool pieces, but everything David brought was really top-shelf. Even his first attempt at knifemaking – the one from his LT Wright class was a neat piece.
We decided to beat on a chunk of 2×12 to try out each other’s knives. I am going to need to sweep the shop when I get back form the show. Chips everywhere.
Before we finished up I had a moment of inspiration. We decided to combine what we had with us into a massive blade dump. How many can you name? We took the picture primarily for our Instagram feed (@knifetruth), but I figured it was worth sharing here for the less social media savvy among you. It is the first installment of a barrage of knife-porn that we will be bringing you over the coming weekend.
David will primarily be handling the instagram duties, and I will be manning the Twitter feed (also @knifetruth). We will both be sharing stuff to Facebook. Please give us a follow as these provide an “on-the-floor” POV in close to real-time. Of course visit TTAK often as we will each be posting mid and end-of-day.
This is the biggest weekend of the year for us, and we are chomping at the bit to get going. I am going to try and settle down and grab at least a little sleep. It is going to be a Red Bull kind of morning. Thanks for reading, when you hear from us next we will be reporting from Atlanta. Away we go.
