Housekeeping: Please send us your best Holiday knife-sale finds

CCKGAR Nov. 26, 2010 - Fairbanks, AK, U.S. - Eric Engman/News-Miner.Shoppers wait anxiously outside Fred Meyer East just a few minutes before the store opens at 5 AM for the Black Friday 6-Hour Sale at the store Friday morning, November 26, 2010. Hundreds of shoppers mobbed the store when it opened it's do

I am not going to brave the crowds, but I may well pick up some steel online during this Holiday shopping season.

Howdy folks,

As we have done in the past, we at TTAK want to find and share the best knife deals with our readers throughout the holiday shopping season. I will do my best to find as many as I can on my own, but you, the Edged Intelligentsia are one heck of a force-multiplier in this endeavor.

Please send along your online (and brick and mortar if applicable) finds to or post them in the comment section below.

I don’t know if this qualifies as a find, but I picked up a 6pack of what seems to be cheap stocking stuffer knives at academy sports the other day. It has 2 serrated 3″ folders 2 non serrated 3″ folders and 2 2″ serrated folders all miller’s creek brand for 12.99 before tax. They aren’t what I would call quality knives, but they will go to people who aren’t knife people and will probably loose them by this time next year anyway. It also might be fun to pick up a pack just to see how much destructive testing a guy could think up. The destructive testing might even relieve a little holiday stress.

Have you considered directly soliciting knife sellers for their black friday/cyber monday sales? I’m sure most would love to have the information out there.

  3. John F. MacMichael says:

If you live in the Portland (OR) area, the Kershaw Warehouse Sale is coming up in two weeks. It is at 18600 SW Teton Avenue, Tualatin, OR 97062. The schedule is:

Friday Dec. 4th, 9 AM to 5:30 PM
Saturday Dec. 5th, 9 AM to 5:30 PM
Sunday Dec. 6th, 9 AM to 2:30 PM

With a little bit of luck you can pick up some real deals here. They offer prices as much as 75% off. They also offer free sharpening on Kershaw knives (except serrated blades) while you shop.

Fair warning: you will be waiting in line outside for a minimum of two hours so dress properly for the weather. Also, parking is bad.
