Knife Gang Kills 26 In NW China Attack: Not The First Time

Uighur attack

Knife-wielding Uighur nationalists are suspected in a grisly dawn attack that left twenty-six police and civilians butchered in a township in northwestern China earlier this week. Police responded (too late, apparently) with gunfire, and ten attackers were added to the butcher’s bill before it was all over.

From NBC News:

Knife-wielding assailants killed nine policemen and 17 civilians in a bloody attack that only ended after 10 attackers were shot dead in western China early Wednesday.

At least three people were also injured during the early morning assault on the Lukqun Township in Xinjiang province, Chinese state media agency Xinhua reported.

If confirmed, it would be one of the bloodiest incidents in Xinjiang since nearly 200 people were killed in the regional capital, Urumqi, in 2009.

The region, which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan, has been the scene of numerous violent incidents in recent years amid tensions between the large population of Muslim Uighurs and the ruling Han ethnic group.

This is the second mass knife attack in recent months in Xinjiang. In March a similar attack killed four and wounded eight more in the oil city of Korla.

No place is absolutely safe from danger. Try to be prepared for anything anywhere.

Shouldn’t barry and company be offering arms to the rebels? Knives are apparently very effective but AK’s and stingers would be better.

Typical media, it isn’t until the 4th paragraph we learn it’s Muslims.
It’s not: Muslims Attack And Kill 26 People In China. Knife gangs?
That NBC refers to the murdering Islamists as simply “Knife gangs”
tells you all you need to know….about NBC’s lack of anything that
might resemble the news in this story. If the Islamists had bombed
a bus, would NBC call them “Bomb gangs?” Probably.
