Knife Tip: Keep Avoiding Taxicabs?

The first time it happened recently in Chicago, we recognized that stabbings by cab drivers are freakishly uncommon. (At least in the U.S., that is.) But now it’s happened again, and we’re starting to wonder if exposure to all those carbon monoxide fumes is doing something to cabbie’s brains.

WJLA reports that a cab or limo driver named Yohannes Deresses was arrested by Secret Service agents after allegedly stabbing two victims in the Washington Harbour area of Georgetown, shown above.

A driver for a car service was arrested Sunday night by Secret Service officers after he allegedly stabbed two people near Georgetown’s Waterfront, officials say.

The stabbing happened at about 7:30 p.m. near the corner of K Street and Thomas Jefferson Street Northwest, according to authorities. The driver, Yohannes Deresse, has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

It’s not clear what prompted the stabbing or what condition the victims are in.

Lousy tippers, that’s my guess.
