London Man Stabbed For Grand Theft Auto V Game. Life Imitates ‘Interactive Art?’

GTA-V-bigLondon police report that a 23-year old man was stabbed, hit with a brick, and robbed of his copy of Grand Theft Auto V. The game had gone on sale at midnight and the robbery went down at 1:20 a.m. so I’m guessing the unnamed gamer didn’t get very far through the epically-large sandbox game.

The Venerable Beeb supplies a few more details:

The 23-year-old was returning home from shopping when he was attacked in Colindale at 01:20 BST, police said. The video game by RockStar Games was officially launched at midnight.

The victim, who is in a stable condition in hospital, was also robbed of a watch and a mobile. No-one has been arrested over the attack and police have appealed for information.

The ‘violent video games cause violence’ coalition probably won’t get much mileage out of this robbery, since even worse spikes of street crime always follow the release of new iPhone products. And there’s no word of whether our punctured gamer was also relieved of a new iPhone 5…

It does, however, lend credence to the idea that violent games don’t cause violence, but violent assholes like to play violent games.

All figures and their names, places, occasions and
all sorts of other aspects in regards to the Pou would be the property of their respective owners.
