Before I get to today’s Import- East matchup between Cold Steel and Al Mar, I need to make a few remarks about Monday’s epic match between Hogue and TOPS. It was something to behold. It was shared by Hogue, Allen Elishewitz personally, TOPS’ social media. Member’s of the Hogue family left comments, and the company even reached out to a reader who expressed a negative customer experience. Thank you everyone for getting in on the spirit of this tournament. In the end, while Hogue put up a gaudy total of more than 200 points, TOPS’ 116 will quite possibly be the highest “losing” score in the tournament. (Results as of 11:30pmEDT, final total will trickle in higher)
A great showing for sure and as I mentioned, I can’t wait to visit TOPS this June and bring you all the story of that experience. For now here is Today’s Cold Steel / Al Mar matchup.
Cold Steel reached the Sweet 16 by beating Kizer by a quiet 14-11 score. Neither company shared the post. hopefully there will be better engagement today. Remember, you can see Cold Steel’s company profile at the link.
Al Mar’s Round 1 contest with WE Knives was also a quiet one, with a lopsided 15-4 score. Again, there was no engagement by either company.
Be sure to check out Allen Elishewitz’s 5 from the Grinder piece, going live at 8am EDT Tuesday. I didn’t want to run it until after their TOPS match, so I have waited to post it.
