Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to our Edged Intelligentsia. Things kind of piled up as I wrote my BAT Coin review, so I have a ton to pass along today.

First, this just seems slightly topical given the date…

Always nice to bring a piece back from the archives.

NOT FLORIDA MAN™: (Apparently this was a hoax – too bad.)

Alabama is close.

Built with aerospace titanium, each SUPRA Multitool comes equipped with upwards of 14 tools in one credit-card-sized package that easily fits in you pocket without issue. Unfolded, a pair of pliers serves at the center piece of the multitool – off of which you’ll find a RWL34 Steel blade with a titanium handle, a USB holder, flat head hex drives, 5 metric wrenches, and a bottle opener among a handful of others. The SUPRA is also TSA compliant (as long as the blades are disassembled beforehand) and weighs in at an incredibly lightweight 2.01 oz. Available now for reservation on Kickstarter.

A dispute over groceries between two Decatur women ended with one of the women being stabbed and cut with a butcher knife and hit in the head with a packet of frozen fish, police said.

A sworn police affidavit said trouble began Sunday afternoon between the women ages 26 and 25. The 25-year-old wanted to move out, and they fought over what groceries she might take, leading the 26-year-old to stab her in the stomach with the knife, as well hitting her and smacking her in the back of the head with the frozen fish, the affidavit said.

The stabbing victim also suffered a cut to her left hand caused, she said, by grabbing the knife blade to avoid being stabbed again.

Never bring a fish to a knife-fight.

You see, Ed didn’t replace the standard VG-10 blade with a Damascus blade. No, he replaced a handle scale with one custom made from Devin Thomas stainless Damascus. It’s a slightly thicker steel than the very thin factory handle scales. And it helps to get a better grip on an already ergonomically designed knife.

Well, that ought to keep y’all busy for a while. At least those without a significant other to spend time with on Valentine’s Day. If you have a significant other, why are you reading a knife blog right now?
