Video: Samurai vs. Machine

I don’t have a lot of backstory on this one, but it doesn’t really need it. A Japanese robotics company has invested considerable time and effort into programming one of their robots to replicate the motions of a trained Iaijyutsu swordsman, to stunning effect.

My personal favorite is the horizontal pickle-slicing at the 3:00 mark.

    I don’t think that is a pickle. It looks to me like it sliced a string bean lengthwise without dislodging it from the perch.
