OK, it probably wasn’t a Messermeister that multi-syllabically monikered Tennyson Salopek Jacobson used on Sunday to save her husband, but that alliteration was just too good to pass up. She definitely used a blade, though. Really. Ms. Jacobson was enjoying her first Mother’s Day when, according to dailymail.co.uk, “The harrowing struggle began at 1.40 a.m. when Tennyson Salopek Jacobson and her husband Kyle Jacobson went to check on their barking dogs and were confronted by a man in his 30s or 40s standing in their darkened hallway.” That’s when hubby Kyle jumped into action . . .
But it was the North Bend, Washington mom who ended it.
‘When the husband was fighting with the intruder, the wife was the one that went and got the knife, and stabbed the intruder, trying to help her husband out,’ said (Sgt. Cindi) West.
It was a helluva weekend for Mrs. Jacobson. She’d already been robbed about twelve hours earlier.
Sgt. West said that the unidentified man entered the house through an unlocked door around 1.10 p.m. on Sunday when the wife was with her daughter and mother in the home in the Cascades foothills, about 30 miles east of Seattle. The robber assaulted her and got away with cash.
By the time Tennyson finished ventilating the dood wresting with her husband, he was as dead as disco. Police believe he was the same intruder who’d broken in and robbed her earlier. Neither Jacobson was seriously hurt. Another Tennyson once said that ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do and die. The Jacobsons did all the doing and, thankfully, the home invader did all the dying. [h/t Tyler Kee]
