I saw the announcement this morning on their Facebook page that Spyderco has unveiled its 2016 catalog. There are 8 new knives that will be debuting this coming year, along with updated versions of classic blades such as the Native. 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of this venerable knife and the Native 5 will feature CPM S110v steel. I have been perfectly content with my “pedestrian” S30V Native, which has been a faithful companion for years. However, the Native 5 might make a nice 40th birthday present this January if my wife is reading this.
I am working on a piece on the new knives for 2016, but it is taking longer than I anticipated. I haven’t been able to work on it as much today as I would have liked (or finish my Caleb White review, sorry to be a tease) because I have been dealing with sick kiddos over the past couple of weeks frankly, but Thing 1 has been home the past 2 days and I can’t seem to get as much writing in as I had planned. I should be able to finish the Spyderco piece by end of day Wednesday, and the review by the end of the week.
Thanks for you patience and understanding.
