Boulder Police have arrested a sword-wielding man and his companion after the man seriously injured an acquaintance with a knife. This followed the perps fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
From Daily Camera:
Boulder police spokeswoman Laurie Ogden said the incident began when police began receiving calls of a suspicious man with a sword in his backpack near 14th and Walnut at about 3:30 p.m.
“Shortly after, we got calls from (a bank on Pearl Street) that a man was chasing someone with a sword,” Ogden said. “The next time he was seen, he was at 14th and Canyon.”
Ogden said the man, later identified as Parker, pulled a knife out of the victim’s backpack and slashed at the victim, who held his hand up defensively, sustaining a serious injury in the process. He was taken to Boulder Community Hospital’s Foothills Campus for treatment.
Following the attack, police said Parker headed toward the Bandshell at Broadway and Canyon Boulevard, where he climbed onto a bicycle and headed east along the bike path. Per radio scanner traffic, a man carrying a large sword was seen near McGuckin’s Hardware store on Wednesday evening.
I don’t have much to say, other than this gave me the chance to toss out a couple of sword memes – which is always a good thing. And a hearty thanks to Knifemaker and TTAK reader Sean McWilliams.
