Nightly Knife Porn: Olympic Spirit Edition

Olympic Knife Porn

Howdy folks. Hope everyone survived the week alright. This has been a very long week for me, as Things 1&2 were home for 3 “flu-days”. Apparently between teachers and substitutes being sick or having to care for their own sick kids, there are not enough folks to mind those students who are healthy enough to be there.

The other thing that made this a long week is I have been looking forward to the Olympics. It may seem anathema to an anti-globalist libertarian as myself to love the Games so much, but I am the son of an emigrant from Holland. The winter Olympics in particular are huge for the Dutch, who pretty much own long-track skating. Watching the Games represent some of the best memories I have with my father, with whom I was estranged for the final 10 years of his life. My lives in Holland, as do several aunts and uncles, and we always give each other a bit of guff when our two countries meet.

Tonight, in the interest of the Olympic spirit, I thought I would make tonight’s knife porn post a collection of knifemakers from around the world. This will be by no means an exhaustive representation, but I am going to see how many different countries I can come up with.

Kicking things off is the international maker who first comes to mind – South African Chris Reeve. So here is some Sebenza porn:

5 from the Grinder participant Jason Guthrie is also a citizen of the RSA.

The Danes bring a strong contingent to the Knifelympics: Jens Anso and Jesper Voxneas…

Representing the knife-oppressed people of the UK are Ben Orford (@craftlabknives) and Alan Johnson.

For Japan, Will Woods suggested Yoshindo Yoshihara, and I will throw in Canadian Murray Carter as a Free-Agent pickup.

A reader requestec C Pak Knives of Pakistan:

I wonder what type of wine it was…

Canadian’s Brian Tighe and 5 from the Grinder participant Jason Leclair:

I have to pick Patrick Famin to be the flag-bearer for France, but will include a couple of good Opinel shots as well…

Sweden is more than Mora, but I can’t leave them out:

Will Woods suggested the Shirogorov Brothers out of Russia, who have no history of PED use and thus can wave their tricolor.

Italian Knifemakers Lionsteel and Extrema Ratio:

China has been making great strides in their Winter Olympic teams and Knives both…

Hawaii is another country right?
