ban all the things

I am barely familiar with One America Network. From what I gather it is for people whom Fox News isn’t right wing enough. I don’t know. I don’t really care. I have tuned out of pretty much all televised news. One of their anchors, Liz Wheeler, had a pretty epic rant about Sadiq Khan’s recent comments on the carry of knives. But why stop at banning knives? Why not Ban all the Things?

Wheeler goes on to list all of the innocuous items that have been (mis)used to kill. I didn’t verify every single one individually, but one particular item mentioned stood out – an Afro Comb. I used a little google fu and came up with this from the BBC:

A 16-year-old girl has been detained for a minimum of 10 years after she was found guilty of murdering a teenager with an Afro comb.

Rebecca Douglas spiked Julie Sheriff in the head with the comb’s metal handle in a row in May 2011.

Julie, originally of Sierra Leone, died on 21 September from a brain injury inflicted in the attack in Battersea.

The 16-year-old, from Hackney, east London, was in a coma for almost five months before she died.

So really, banning all the things is the only thing that can really keep us safe.

I’ve never heard of One America Network, but then, I don’t watch TV news. I’ve heard of Khan, though. Didn’t he star in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan?

  2. I Don't Know says:

When all things are criminal, only criminals will have things.

Which is what criminals want – to have all the things.

Once they do, maybe they’ll stop the violence.

    The end.

Liz Wheeler had a great rant there, and all true!

You made me laugh with, “From what I gather [OANN] is for people whom Fox News isn’t right wing enough.”
Fox News is middle of the road, only slightly left; that’s why all the rest hate it, they’re all far left. None are particularly interested in the truth; that’s wherever you can find it, and it’s quite elusive on TV. They have their narrative, and that’s what you get.

That’s why like you, I have tuned out of all the “news” channels. I cut the TV cord entirely over 10 years ago, and haven’t missed the misinformation!

that ally brosch stuff is my spouse’s mantra.
    “you’re not doing the thing.”
    “shh…. you’ll ruin everything.”
