What are you carrying on “National Knife Day”?

Knife Rights issued the following press release for National Knife Day:

Gilbert, Arizona: Today is National Knife Day in America. Not exactly an official holiday, nobody gets the day off, but we’ll take the holiday anyway. Knife Rights Chairman Doug Ritter said, “It’s a great day to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished with everyone’s support in the 11 years since Knife Rights was founded and in the 8 years since we started in on our state legislative agenda. In total, Knife Rights can now count 28 pro-knife bills repealing knife bans or restrictions in 20 states! Plus, 8 anti-knife bills defeated!  We are truly rewriting knife law in America!”

Ritter continued, “None of this could be accomplished without the generous support of our members and supporters and we are sincerely appreciative of that. Our passion for rewriting knife law™, for getting rid of bad knife laws and passing good knife laws, can only succeed with the funding you help provide. Without that, we can do little. Thanks so much for your support!”

What are you carrying on National Knife Day?

I am don’t know yet, but as I have finished my Bradford Guardian 3S review, I will proabably go back to my Hogue X5 or Boker Plus Kalashnikov. Both are my go-to EDC folders these days. My most and least expensive knives in the rotation.

  1. Jason says:

Victorinox SAK Cadet model… silver ALOX.

Fits nicely in the watch pocket of my khakis too.

    1. The Demon Slick says:

Chive by Ken Onion, I need small and light and doesn’t wear down the pocket in lighter fabrics. Plus I love stainless. This knife isn’t what I’m choosing for more dangerous places but day to day it’s a solid utility knife, and virtually undetectable by eyeball, plus a 50/50 shot in a metal detector, depending on the settings. In the hood I’m sporting twin ducks, the old ones, before manufacturing moved to China.

      1. The Demon Slick says:

Duck USA, heavy like a roll of quarters and you can feel the logo in your pocket, roll it in your palm to get the blade open side out. And cheap as heck, so you won’t cry if you have to ditch them.

  2. TheStoic says:

If I’d known of the occasion I may have carried something a little more special; as it is, it’s my regular ol’ day at the office knife, a Benchmade 940-2

  3. connie says:

good old gran’s little yellow pocketknife

  4. stuartb says:

My new Leatherman Skeletool KB, I’ll use the bottle opener clip later to help celebrate the day

  5. Chase M. says:

A nice red Microtech Ultratech letter opener.

  6. G says:

Carrying my every day Buck 305 Lancer, of course.

  7. Hannibal says:

Gerber fast draw. At least I think that’s what it’s called, I’m not sure. Best cheap knife I ever found so I’ve bought like three of em over the years as they get lost (my fault, not the knife).

I wonder why some of the states are polka-dotted.

And I see that the necessity to sign in every time also happens here now.

    1. Necessity to sign in each time?

      1. Jason says:

I Hannibal is referring to the requirement that you always have to enter your name and email address when leaving a comment; as opposed to integrating with any of the social media accounts that allow you to post non-anonymously, then give you the option of always being recognized when you visit the page.

ttag levies the blame on the new server that was migrated to. i have had the symptom continue to appear and correct on two separate devices. cookie clearing was prescribed but the phenomenon continues.
          very mildly irritating.

  8. Tomcat_AL200 says:

I’m carrying my uniform EDC, a SOG Tomcat 3.0 San-Mai carbon fiber. A SOG Vulcan is waiting at home…

  9. Folder guy says:

AG Russell one-hand knife with VG-10 blade

  10. Button Gwinnett says:

Old Timer (by Schrade) Trapper Knife.

  11. Patrick C Carroll says:

    Opinel N10.

  12. Reef Blastbody says:

  13. derfel cadarn says:

Buck Stockman, Leatherman Wave and a five inch CFK damascus fixed blade, every day !

  14. NavyRetGold says:

Kershaw Blur S30V, and a SOG Spec Elite I in VG-10.
